In the 1990s my family helped put on cat shows with the Rocky Mountain Cat Fanciers. We did it all ourselves: entry clerking, judges’ books, catalogs, ring clerk books, number cards, set-up and tear-down. Clubs ran their own shows back then, and they could, because the software ran on the club’s own computer.

A lot of that independence has gone. ShowKeeper is my attempt to bring it back: software that runs on the club’s own laptop and doesn’t take a cut of anyone’s entry fee.
